Ormanüstü Duman is from
the East Black Sea mountains of Turkey. Ormanüstü means upper forest, the wooded
area just below the bare highlands, also the name of the village where Duman comes
from. Duman means smoke, named for his dark coat.
Duman is a working dog, originally guarding a sheep flock in Turkey and
now guarding Boer goats in Oregon.
